At this evening’s performance of “ERNIE” in Detroit’s legendary City Theatre, attendees were treated to a special announcement: the play will return for a second season! All of the original cast and crew will return next summer. Tickets for the June and July 2012 performances will be on sale tomorrow, and more shows may be added.
Since it opened April 22, nearly 28,000 people have seen the show. The current run ends this Sunday, August 21.

“Mitch (Albom) hit a home run — let’s put it that way. The play brought back a lot of memories. And I’ve been a fan, I knew a lot of stories, but there was a lot about the young Ernie I learned, too.”
