About This Episode

The lesson behind today’s episode title, Joy Comes in the Morning, is inspired by this passage from Psalm 30:05, “Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy cometh in the morning.” Host Mitch Albom discusses those things that keep us up at night, that seem so insurmountable by the light of the moon, but lose their impetus once the sun rises at the start of a new day. Producer Lisa talks about the loss of her beloved 18-year-old dog, Stella, and how she looks forward to experiencing the morning joy ahead, following the sadness.

Such a coincidence with this podcast. I had to put down my cat last Friday the 24th. She also was over 18. It is always very hard to do. My last cat. The mother I put down a couple of years ago. This poor little baby spent the last 4 mo in my room. She was one that never came to my room to stay. She stayed for 4 mo as it was her comfort zone I guess. She knew I would take care of her. I got to know her better. So sweet she was. I was not going to put her down until today Tues but when Friday came last week she had declined rapidly from the night before. They were so nice at the Vet. They took her from the side door and had everything ready for her. So hard and then I went to work after that was done. Again so hard but I needed to be busy. I wanted her cremated. I want to get another cat. Animals bring a lot of joy. I am looking at the Humane Society or the Animal Rescue. We will see if the right one comes along. Today is a nice day and although I do not have a cat to talk to or greet me I too have found joy today . It is such a nice day and i had to do some retail therapy shopping I call it.
