About This Episode

Psychoanalyst, Marriage & Family Therapist, Dr. Bethany Marshall, joins host Mitch Albom on the Tuesday People Podcast as we discuss suicide and the death of beloved dancer and TV personality, Stephen “tWitch” Boss. With Stephen’s passing came the universal question, “How can a person with such a positive, upbeat personality on the outside, hurt so much on the inside, and nobody saw it?” This is not an unusual phenomenon, and Dr. Marshall helps us understand the complexities of the decision to take one’s own life, and what we can do to help those around us who might be struggling.

If you or someone you know is struggling with suicidal thoughts or mental health-related distress, seek help from a professional and call 9-8-8. The United States’ first nationwide three-digit mental health crisis hotline will connect callers with trained mental health counselors.
