A HOLE IN THE ROOF FOUNDATION

The mission of A Hole in the Roof Foundation is to help faith groups of every denomination who care for the homeless to repair the spaces in which they carry out their work and offer their services.  The seed that gave root to the Foundation – and also inspired its name – is the I Am My Brother's Keeper church in Detroit, MI.  Here, despite a gaping hole in the roof, and no matter how harsh the weather, the pastor tends to his community to provide spiritual nourishment and a sanctuary for the homeless.

A Hole in the Roof Foundation raises and distributes funds to help pay for the materials and labor that are needed to help faith groups make such repairs to their most essential infrastructure:  replacing broken windows; shoring up load-bearing walls or loose foundations; repairing leaks and other plumbing problems; fixing or replacing heating sources.  
 
Our first project was the I Am My Brother’s Keeper roof in the crumbling but vibrant Detroit church, completed in December 2009. We will distribute any and all funds based on applications, need and the most good they can do.
 
The Hole in the Roof Foundation was established by Mitch Albom in 2009 and is a 501(c)3 charity organization based in Detroit, MI.  The board of directors includes Mitch and Chad Audi, President of the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries.

THE CAMPAIGN FOR HAITI'S TOMORROW MEETS 60% OF ITS GOAL

The Campaign for Haiti's Tomorrow Meets 60% of its Goal in Two Weeks

As of Wednesday, February 24, A Hole in the Roof Foundation reached 60% of it's goal to raise $70,000 to fund essential repairs at the Caring and Sharing Mission and Orphanage in Port-au-Prince, Haiti.  Over 400 gifts totaling approximately $42,000 were raised through online, phoned-in, and mailed-in contributions!

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 Educated in Lebanon, England and the US, Dr. Chad Audi has served as an accomplished Chief Executive Officer for Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries for almost 10 years. Dr. Audi is an active  member of many financial, accounting, management and fundraising professional organizations. Dr. Audi wrote many researches on management for profit and non for profit organizations. Possessing extensive non-profit and profit-sector leadership and experience, Dr. Audi gained respect in the community for forming strategic partnerships and finding innovative and cost-effective solutions to meet the needs of homeless Detroiters, as well as those overcoming addictions in a spiritually supportive environment. Dr. Audi is successfully managing a $16,000,000 non-profit organization while overseeing the development of a comprehensive financial solvency plan, he has earned for DRMM exemplary marks from national charity evaluators for agency solvency. Dr. Audi is a  resourceful team leader with a distinctive ability to align and inspire people around possibility-oriented outcome.
