27 Dec 2012: A New Year's Wish from Mitch

Dear Friends,

I couldn’t let this year end without writing to you to share my gratitude for such an extraordinary year. You have been loyal fans, generous supporters, and truly good friends.

The children celebrate Christmas at the Have Faith Haiti MissionThank you for embracing The Time Keeper--publishing a new book is always an exciting and fretful experience, made wonderful by the opportunity to meet with you at bookstore signings and learning how the book touched you from your emails and messages.

Thank you for being partners in giving. Together, we opened a school at the Have Faith Haiti Mission; we kept Mother Batie’s soup kitchen open for Detroit’s neediest; we helped Texana Hollis celebrate her 102nd birthday in her own home after she was evicted; we gave homes to needy working families; we expanded the SAY Detroit Family Health Clinic’s services to include dental care; we boarded up hundreds of abandoned houses to make the neighborhoods surrounding schools safer; and through various events and drives throughout the year, we raised hundreds of thousands to continue the good work SAY Detroit is committed to. None of it is possible without you. And for all of it, I am grateful.

As we look towards 2013, I want to wish you, my good friends, a joyous celebration to ring in the new year. I wish for you warmth and comfort,  many laughs with family and friends, and the moments of grace that remind you you are special and loved. I wish for us tranquility in a world we may not always understand. I wish for all of us peace.

To many more good days together.

Your friend,

Mitch
