Monday night, Mitch Albom was inducted into Sportswriters Hall of Fame in Salisbury, N.C. He joins the likes of Grantland Rice, Red Smith, Damon Runyon, Jimmy Cannon, Dave Anderson and more. His co-inductee was Dick Vitale of ESPN on the broadcast side. Each spoke and was given a plaque as well as an engraved Louisville slugger. For his 30 years in the business, Mitch was recognized as one of the best ever at what he does. He thanked his fellow colleagues - and all his readers everywhere - in a speech that drew a standing ovation. "You have graced me with this honor and I do thank you very much," Albom told the crowd.
