Iam an assitant librarian. We are participating in The Season of Non-Violence by asking the community to create 1000 paper peace cranes. Iam looking for a reciepent (domestic violence shelters, homeless, etc.) for the gift of our peace cranes. Many who participate in this project send them out of the country. I want to keep it close to home as it is easy to forget the struggles in our own backyards. If you could direct me to an organization in the Detroit area who would be willing to accept this gift I would appreciate it as I am unfamiliar with what is available. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
