Linsanity is better to love than to hate

Maybe the spell is already broken. Maybe Jeremy Lin's glass slipper is turning back to a more standard shoe, Nike or Converse or something like that. His New York Knicks on Friday night finally lost a game with him as starting point guard - lost, at home, to New Orleans, one of the worst teams in the league - and Lin had nine turnovers.

But before the fire dims on the hottest story in the NBA, let's be clear about a couple of things:

Jim Schoemehl 5k Run for ALS

On Saturday May 12, 2012 at 8:00 AM, students from the Marketing II Class at Webster Groves High School will be hosting the 11th annual Jim Schoemehl 5k Run that funds research for the ALS Association and financially supports a local family who has been affected by ALS. Hosting this event every year has given hundreds of marketing students the opportunity to learn more about promotion, fundraising, marketing, and non-profit management. Also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, ALS is a fatal disease that degenerates the neurons that control voluntary movement in the body. It affects more than six-thousand people every year and there is currently no cure. The money raised will go to further research in hopes of one day finding a cure as well as providing for the ALS patient and their family in their last few years of life.
